Passionate About Inspiring Others

My name is Chelsea Okeh. I am a senior Biological Science Major and Health Administration and Policy Minor student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I am aiming to pursue an MD/PhD in Epidemiology or Public Health to specifically undertake the rampant issue of health disparities thus lessening their grim outcomes in the future. In my free time I love to cook and eat meals from every region of the world, indulge in photography and expand my music taste.

Where it all began...
In my senior year of high school, I was fortunate to take part in our County's Intern/Mentorship program. At my internship, I was able to have both clinical and research-based experiences. As one of the head doctors on call, my mentor would cover other doctors in various specialties other than in pediatric vaccination and infectious diseases (his primary areas of specialty). Because of this, I have seen babies in the nursery under neonatology as well! This experience especially aided in networking within the medical center and developing professional relationships with adults.
