Interdisciplinarity

For my Interdisciplinarity experience, I decided to focus on my growing involvement with Bioinformatics/Quantitative Biology and the more technical sides of the Science. I see the world trending towards these computational skills and using them in wherever field you end up. Computer Science is no longer reserved for Computer Scientists and I would like to become well versed and comfortable with utlizing code and data analysis tools.

Coding

Learning how to code

(focusing on RStudio and Python)

cmsc 201

To build upon what I know and to learn more/ challenge what I know using projects I'll be taking 201 next semester

Bioinformatics

I took BINF SP21 and left with a wealth of information on many things from Algorithims, Boolean, Computational Biology, Databases...

Below is my team project on Monte Carlo Simulations!

Research

I had begun research studying the genetic determinants of mortality and longevity Summer 2020 with the Ritchie Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. Through this I learned so much about how patient health records were used and genetic risk scores are assigned. I'll be with them Summer 2021 as well!
